What we Believe

We believe that we are made in the image of God.

We understand God as a Trinity - three persons in one: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God, who is one, is revealed in three distinct persons.

We believe that humans can choose to accept or reject a relationship with God. We believe that all humans need to be in relationship with God in order to be fully human.

We believe that the Bible is the primary authority for our faith and practice. The Bible contains all things necessary for salvation. We believe that the Bible is the word of God, but that is not inerrant.

We believe in two Sacraments – Baptism and Communion.  Sacraments are means of Grace.

Baptism is the Sacrament of Initiation. God claims those being baptized with God’s divine grace, as they are, regardless of age.  We believe in a triune baptism: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe we are restored in fellowship with God though baptism.

In Communion, we experience the real active and living presence of Christ in the gifts of bread and juice.  We believe that Christ our Lord Invites to his table all who love him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another.  Sharing in communion gives us grace for the journey, helping us live the Christian life!

We believe that the church is the body of Christ, an extension of Christ's life and ministry in the world today. The church is called to worship God and to support those who participate in its life as they grow in faith.
